- Reporters Without Borders, also known under its French name, Reporters sans frontières (RSF), is an international non-profit organisation based in Paris that defends the freedom of information throughout the world. RSF accomplishes its work thanks to its wide network of correspondents in 130 countries, its 16 offices worldwide and its consultative status in several international organizations including the United Nations, UNESCO and the Council of Europe.
- The RSF East Asia Representative Office opened in 2017 in Taipei, focusing on the East Asian territories (China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, North Korea, South Korea and Mongolia). The bureau serves as a strategic platform for operating the RSF missions in the region: monitoring, advocacy, public awareness campaigns, assistance and security training for journalists.
- The RSF Taiwan Chapter is a Taiwan-registered non-profit association opened in 2019 that allows RSF to better connect with the Taiwanese civil society and reach a higher efficiency in promoting freedom of information in the region. RSF Taiwan supports the mandate, values and missions defined by RSF Paris.
- Spokesperson. Cédric Alviani, East Asia Bureau director, is the only person entitled to speak and publish in the name of the international organisation Reporters Without Borders (RSF). The board and members of RSF Taiwan Chapter are not involved in decisions related to policy making and editorial contents distributed by RSF.
